My background and qualifications.
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. I hold a Clinical Diploma in Psychotherapy and a Clinical Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. Clinical means my training included a large amount of face to face client work (often with clients suffering from stress, anxiety, depression arising from trauma, abuse, family or personal issues and events) , and psychodynamic refers to how we interact with each other in ways often outside of our consciousness, and often shaped by our earlier lives.
I trained at the Metanoia Institute.
Over the years I have also worked as a counsellor / therapist for MIND, EACS, and MCPS. I still do some work for other organisations alongside my private practice.
I am a registered member of both The United Kingdom Counsel for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), two of the main professional bodies for psychotherapists and counsellors. I abide by their code of ethics.
I also hold other Masters and Bachelor Degrees.
